Basic information

CAI Yuanpei, associate professor and master tutor of the School of Criminal Justice, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). He is the deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of CUPL, and a researcher of the Judicial Reform Research Center. Professor CAI holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and Economics from CUPL, a PH.D from Peking University, and a visiting scholar at University of California, Berkeley. He is a member of the Legal Expert Advisory Committee of CUPL, a member of the authoritative legal expert group of Baidu Knows, and a part-time lawyer. Professor CAI’s main research fields are Criminal Procedure Law, Evidence Law, Supervision Law, and judicial system. He offers courses such as Criminal Procedure Law, Evidence Law, Supervision Law, Selected Readings of Supervision Regulations, and Reading Classic Works. He has published more than 20 articles in core journals such as Law Science, Studies in Law and Business, Law and Social Development, and Global Law Review, and has been reprinted in Xinhua Digest, China Social Science Excellence and other digests. Professor CAI has presided over 6 projects such as The National Social Science Fund of China. He has won the honors of "Ten Most Popular Teachers for Undergraduates" (2021) of China University of Political Science and Law, Lecturer of Excellent Professional Courses in Beijing Universities (2021), and Outstanding Moral Education Worker of Beijing Universities (2021). He has been interviewed dozens of times by the CCDI, the NCS, People's Daily Online, CETV, BTV, Guangming Daily, Legal Daily and other media.

(1)Set up a free online course Criminal Procedure Law on the Chinese University MOOC, which is open to the whole society, and the number of course candidates has reached more than 20,000.

(2) Participate in dozens of academic seminars held by the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the China Law Society, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, University of International Business and Economics, China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, etc., and make keynote reports or talks.

(3)Accepted more than ten interviews with the CCDI, the NCS, People's Daily Online, CETV, BTV, Guangming Daily, Legal Daily and other media.

(4) He has given part-time lectures for Renmin University of China, Minzu University of China and other colleges and universities. He has also given lectures for more than 10 times for Beijing Municipal legal inspection units, legal affairs departments of central enterprises, disciplinary inspection and supervision departments, law firms and other units.

(5)He has put forward expert advice and suggestions to the legislature for several times on such laws and regulations as Oversight Officials Law, Law on Administrative Discipline for Public Officials, Regulation on the Implementation of the Oversight Law, and the Regulations on the Implementation of the Counterterrorism Law of Beijing.

(6)As a part-time lawyer, provide legal services such as criminal defense and representation, and compliance of enterprises involved in the case.
